Okay the title is a little misleading because what I'm going to write is on some of the good food places that my friends and I managed to visit during our Honours year. Let's face it, research (scientific, in my case) life isn't as programmed as that of an undergraduate life, in which most of the time are spent on attending lectures and tutorials and then doing those crazy assignments. The research project planning, experimental protocols troubleshooting and optimizing stages are enough to physically and mentally break me down, especially at the very beginning of my project. So any free time I had outside of lab would be spent on reading and reading more research papers and also to think about how to make my experimental protocols work, and to analyze if results makes sense. It is considered a privilege to have my fellow research mates to agree on a common free time for outings and gatherings. Anyway, boring ramblings aside, I'd like to introduce and recommend two eateries, which have good food (if you don't already know about them).
Dave's, One Utama
My friend Mr. Steven purchased some Groupon cash vouchers for this place, so we saved quite a lot during my first trip there to celebrate Ms. Mei-Jean's birthday.
Funny story: Michelle and I were supposed to go to One U earlier to hide the birthday cake at the restaurant before the birthday girl arrives. Somehow before we arrived at One U, another friend, Boey Yee text messaged us that the venue was Dave's Deli. So Michelle and I headed over to Dave's Deli and asked the staff to keep the cake in their fridge and we also started to arrange the tables for the gathering. Then birthday girl arrived and told us, it's not Dave's Deli, but Dave's, which is 3 doors (I think) away. It was embarrassment at the utmost level! Michelle and I had to come up with the lame excuse and tell the waiter that we got the wrong date instead of the wrong venue (to be less embarrassing).
Now to the main story, Dave's Caeser Salad and Pork Shaving's Salad is TO DIE FOR. If you ask me, the latter is the better one and would be the reason I want to return to this place. There's also range of pasta choices and meat (the main attraction is pork) products (roasted pork knuckles!), as well as pizzas and sandwiches to choose from. Overall, good food and a little tad pricey, but definitely worth every penny spent!

Coffee Chemistry Signature, First Subang Mall
Been here a few times. The most recent one was back in February for their CNY special yee-sang dish. It is definitely a very different kind of yee-sang. I personally find it healthier compared to those using artificial colored dried ingredients. The best part about the yee-sang here at CCS is their generous portion of salmon! The yee-sang is also served with fresh fruits which also gives it natural colour (fresh watermelons and dragon fruit slices). Reasonably priced too! Of course, what is a trip to CCS without their awesomely brewed coffee! Writing about it now makes me crave for a cup! I haven't been to CCS since the yee-sang trip.
